후마니타스에서 발행한 열여덟, 일터로 나가다는 실업계 고등학생들의 현장실습 도중 사망에 이르게 한 산업 현장과 학교 그리고 정책의 매커니즘을 주목하고 있습니다. 학교는 학생 취업률을 높이기 위해 열악한 노동 환경의 공장으로 학생들을 내몰고, 정부와 교육청은 사실상 이런 실태를 방관하며 학생들의 열악한 노동 환경을 외면하고 있습니다. 이 책은 콜센터에서 강도높은 노동 환경에 치어 스스로 목숨을 던진 은주 양과 구의역 지하철 스크린도어에 끼여 숨진 김 군을 비롯한 다양한 사례의 현장실습생을 통해 우리가 직면한 교육과 노동 그리고 정부 정책의 부조리를 이야기합니다.

The Eighteen, Going to Work, published by Humanitas notes industrial sites, schools and policy mechanisms that led to death during field training for high school students in the business community. Schools are pushing students to factories in poor working conditions to increase the employment rate of students, and the government and education offices are ignoring the poor working conditions of students. This book tells the absurdities of education, labor and government policies that we face through Field exercise, including Eun-ju, who took her own life due to the intense labor environment of the call center, and Kim, who died in a subway door at Guui Station.
