The 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Quac Insik
The 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Quac Insik&celebrates the 100th anniversary of Quac’s birth, a collection of his works and materials in Korea and Japan. Quac Insik is an artist who has explored materials before the discussion of materials in Japanese art began. He has produced works that experiment with properties of various materials, such as glass, brass, and paper. The essential exploration of these materials and the originality of the building elements have had a direct and indirect impact on many artists. We tried to create a book, an object, that reflects his sense of exploration of character. We used paper with the texture of stone and glass, and we used a typeface that maximized the texture of the shaving surface to capture the material in our books.
