빨갱이. 20세기 냉전 이데올로기 안에서 국가 체제 유지를 위해 정부가 선택했던 가장 간편한 단어입니다. 수많은 이웃들이 영문도 모른 채 간첩으로 지목되고 고문에 시달렸으며 누군가는 죽음을, 누군가는 평생의 오명에 낙인찍혀 살아가야했습니다. 수상한 책, 111 Vol.3은 국가 폭력으로 인해 개인의 삶이 얼마만큼 황폐해질 수 있는가를 기록한 증언집입니다. 간첩 신고를 위한 번호 111 사이로 서로를 지목하는 빨간 손은 여전히 해결되지 못한 오늘날 국가폭력의 흔적을 가리키고 있습니다.

The Suspicious Book 111 Vol. 3
Red. It’s the simplest word that the government has chosen to maintain a state system in the 20th century’s Cold War ideology. Countless people were picked as spies and tortured without reasons. Someone was executed, someone had to live under the stigma of a lifetime. The Suspicious Book 111 Vol. 3&is a testament to how much violence can devastate an individual’s life. 111 is the number used to report spies in South Korea. The red hands that point to each other between 111 represents traces of today’s national violence that have not been resolved.
