치화평은 한글이라는 문자를 통해 누구나 글을 읽고 지식을 축적하고 사유하여 인간다운 삶을 누릴 수 있는 세상을 의미합니다. 세종대왕이 꿈꾸었던 모두의 평화가 있는 곳, 그 상징적 이상향을 전시 치화평은 다루고 있습니다. 전시에 참여한 평면, 영상, 설치, 퍼포먼스 등 여러 분야에서 활동한 10팀의 작가는 나름의 방식으로 치화평에 대해 해석하고 재조명했습니다. 일상의실천은 옛 훈민정음체를 바탕으로 모던하게 재해석된 모티브 그래픽의 조화를 통해 전통의 ‘현대적 재해석’이라는 주제를 시각화하기 위해 노력했습니다.

Chiwhapyeong&means a world where anyone can read, accumulate knowledge and enjoy a human life through the Korean alphabet. The exhibition Chiwhapyeong&deals with the peaceful ideals of all the dreams of King Sejong. The artists of the 10 teams who participated in the exhibition, including paintings, videos, installations, and performances, interpreted and reinterpreted Chiwhapyong&in their own way. We designed a modern graphic motif that was reinterpreted using the Hunminjeongeum’s sculptural principles.
