2021 서울도시건축비엔날레의 주제는 크로스로드, 어떤 도시에 살 것인가 입니다. 크로드로드는 ‘지상/지하’, ‘유산/현대’, ‘공예/디지털’, ‘자연/인공’, ‘안전/위협’이라는 5개의 소주제로 구성되어, 동대문디자인플라자(DDP), 서울도시건축관, 세운상가 일대에서 다양한 프로젝트와 전시로 진행중입니다.
일상의실천은 이번 비엔날레의 주제를 상징하는 ‘윈드로즈’를 메인 그래픽 모티브로, 서울의 다양한 지역에서 동시다발적으로 진행되는 프로젝트의 유기적인 연결성을 시각화하는 작업을 진행했습니다. 다양한 컬러의 파티클이 원의 형태에서 시작해 흩어지고 다시 모이는 모습을 통해, 비엔날레를 만들어가는 구성원 각자의 개별적 특성과 협업의 관계를 동시에 표현하고자 노력했습니다.

The theme of 2021 Seoul biennale of Architecure and Urbanism(SBAU2021) is CROSSROADS, Building the resilient city. CROSSROADS is composed by 5 subjects, which are ‘ABOVE / BELOW, ‘HERITAGE / MODERN, ‘CRAFT / DIGITAL’, ‘NATURAL / ARTIFICIAL’, ‘SAFE / RISK’. SBAU2021 will be implemented at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), Seoul Hall of Urbanism and Architecture (SHUA), and Sewoon Plaza in a variety of projects and exhibitions.
Everyday Practice worked on visualizing the organic connectivity of the simultaneous projects in various parts of Seoul, using the main graphic motif of ‘Wind Rose’, which symbolizes the theme of the biennale. Through various colored particles starting in the form of circles, scattered and gathered again, we tried to express the relationship between individual characteristics and collaboration of each member creating the biennial at the same time.
