<Women in the Sky: Gender and Labor in the Making of Modern Korea> is a book about the struggles of women workers, from Jooryong Kang, who demonstrate on a high roof of an eulmil-dae in colonial-era Pyongyang, to Jinsook Kim, who climbed a crane in Busan in 2011. The book recognizes women workers as the new protagonists of industrialized society, and tells the stories of individuals who moved for their aspirations and dreams.

Everyday Practice designed the typeface for the title of the book with the motif of ‘thread’, a material of light industry, symbolizing a string of solidarity. The lettering, which is treated with a shining material, represents the glorious dreams that women workers’ struggle hoped for.
